But, as Mark Grant, CEO for the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership commented today, Australia's education system is caught in the crosshairs of a competing crisis. "Australian teachers are feeling the impact of two years of COVID-related stress, the demands of remote teaching and teacher shortages, and it's all putting a strain on the profession," he said. A recent survey conducted by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership showed that 80% of Australian educators felt their work-life-balance was either 'less or non-existent' and job satisfaction had dropped from 91% in 2017, to 63% in 2021. As a result, they are leaving.
