Three overdue after fishing trip at Wollongong

A police operation is underway off the seas of Wollongong after three men were reported overdue from a fishing trip.

The men were on board a boat that left Bellambi boat ramp at 2pm yesterday (Saturday 3 July 2021).

Family members alerted police at 6am today (Sunday 4 July 2021), when the boat did not return as scheduled.

Officers from Wollongong Police District, Marine Area Command and PolAir, along with members of Surf Life Saving NSW, are conducting a search for the men.

The men's utility and boat trailer have been found in the boat ramp car park.
