Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo) has released four introduction videos on its supercomputer TSUBAME4.0 on the official Science Tokyo YouTube channel. The release includes two videos for general audiences that provide an accessible overview of TSUBAME4.0 in Japanese and English, and two in-depth videos for specialist audiences with English narration and either Japanese or English subtitles. These videos introduce the scale, features, and role of TSUBAME4.0 as a computational resource that supports research and education at Science Tokyo and use by external users. We hope they will offer a wide audience an opportunity to learn more about Science Tokyo's research environment and advanced computational infrastructure.
TSUBAME4.0 will also be open to the public during Suzukake Science Day 2026, to be held on May 16 and 17 at Yokohama Campus. We hope the videos will inspire visitors to experience Science Tokyo's research environment in person.
About TSUBAME4.0
TSUBAME4.0 is Science Tokyo's supercomputer, which began operation on April 1, 2024. Operated by the Center for Information Infrastructure, it delivers 66.8 petaflops in double precision and 952 petaflops in half precision, and supports a wide range of workloads including conventional HPC, big data, and AI. It serves as a core computational infrastructure supporting research and education at Science Tokyo.
