Update on Sorell Jobs Hub extension

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Strategic Growth

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has a Plan to rebuild a stronger Tasmania and the successful South East Employment Hub provides a critical opportunity to assist Tasmania’s social and economic recovery from COVID-19.

Due to the success of the program we have invested another $300,000 to extend the Hub for another 12 months.

The great results achieved by the South East initiative, localised industry mix and deep engagement by local stakeholders made it an obvious choice for continued support.

The program has assisted 168 jobseekers into employment up to the end of October 2020, this includes 45 into full time work, 50 into part-time jobs and 73 into casual roles.

I look forward to seeing even more locals in the area optimise all the opportunities, programs and pathways to finding employment.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government’s Plan is to share opportunities with more Tasmanians.
