UQ Leads Subjects In QS World University Ranking

The University of Queensland has ranked in the global top 50 for 20 academic subject areas in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

UQ continues to be the top-ranked university in Australia and second globally for sports-related courses, highlighting UQ's contribution to enhanced understanding of human movement, building healthier communities and innovative health technology.

The University's knowledge and partnerships in the sports industry will help support the ambitions of Brisbane 2032, from social, economic and environmental sustainability, to driving equitable access and participation for people with a disability.

Nationally, UQ was ranked first for sports-related courses, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture and Forestry, and Chemical Engineering.

The University is second in Australia for Dentistry, and third for Mineral and Mining Engineering, Hospitality and Leisure Management, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Veterinary Sciences, and Chemistry.

UQ achieved 20 subjects ranked in the global top 50, including:

The 2024 ranking analysed subject areas across 1,561 institutions using data including academic and employer reputation, citations to research papers, the H-Index of research, and international research networks.
