Woman remains critical; man charged over domestic assault - Central Coast

An elderly man has been charged after a woman was found suffering critical head injuries on the state's Central Coast last night.

About 9.15pm (Tuesday 23 June 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Sunnyhills Terrace, Berkeley Vale, after reports a 79-year-old woman was found suffering critical head injuries.

The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A 91-year-old man – who is known to the woman – was arrested at the scene and taken to Wyong Police Station.

He has been charged with wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).

The man was granted conditional bail to face Wyong Local Court on Tuesday 8 September 2020.
