IIASA is excited to announce that the 2023 Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP) candidates have been selected.
After a highly competitive application process, 52 participants from 25 countries will be starting their summer with at IIASA in Laxenburg on 2 June 2023. Two candidates have been awarded special fellowships to participate in this year's cohort - the Jyoti and Kirit Parikh fellowship was awarded to Rajdeep Singh from India and Jalal Awan received the Roger Levien Fellowship for PARDEE RAND students.
The YSSP is designed for advanced PhD students - ideally about two years prior to completing their PhD - working on a topic that is compatible with ongoing research at IIASA and who wish to explore the policy implications of their work. Participants work under the direct mentorship of experienced IIASA scientists in a unique interdisciplinary and international research environment. As part of their participation YSSPers produce a paper serving as the first step towards a publishable journal article, and have the opportunity to build up contacts for future collaboration within the institute's worldwide network.
