  • The McGowan Government has delivered a $2.5 million boost to 34 small and medium-sized private international education providers to support them through WA's world leading COVID management and soft landing.

Funded by the International Education Industry Support Payment, the grants will help Western Australian-based providers to continue to operate sustainably, and provide services to international students.

The International Education Industry Support Payment is designed to support the cash flow of small and medium-sized private education providers.

Private international education providers could apply for grants up to $50,000 for eligible small-sized providers (1-19 employees), and $100,000 for medium-sized providers (20-199 employees).

The payment is part of the McGowan Government's $77 million Safe Transition Industry Support Package, which assists the sectors most affected by the necessary decision to temporarily delay the full reopening of WA's borders.

"Our State remains a great place to live, study and work - and there are many employment, social, and cultural opportunities for international students across WA.

"We are committed to supporting and growing the international education sector in Western Australia, including building a pipeline of future onshore international students."
