Drug and alcohol seizures - West Arnhem

Northern Territory Police have seized a quantity of alcohol and drugs in two separate incidents in the West Arnhem region.

About 10:15pm on Wednesday 10 June, police stopped a vehicle for a random breath test and liquor search in a liquor restricted area.

The search located three bottles of spirits and four packages of cannabis plant material. The 52-year-old male driver was issued with a notice to appear in court on Tuesday 7 July 2020 for possession of dangerous drug in a public place.

In the early hours of this morning, police were conducting a random breath test station when they apprehended a vehicle.

A search of the vehicle located six bottles of spirits, five cans of beer, three casks of wine and a small bag of cannabis.

Police issued a liquor infringement notice to the 46-year-old male driver for bringing liquor into alcohol protected area. A 20-year-old male passenger was issued a drug infringement notice for the possession of cannabis.

The liquor and cannabis has been seized for destruction.
