Mornington Peninsula Shire is seeking to engage an artist through a comprehensive EOI process to create a series of photographic works to be presented in the new Yawa Aquatic Centre at project completion in March 2021 for a period of 12 months.

With an expected 400,000 visits per year, the Yawa Aquatic Centre will offer the local community and surrounding areas with an indoor 50-metre swimming pool, Learn to Swim pool, indoor water play area, warm water pool, steam room, spa and sauna, gymnasium, group fitness studio, spin room, café, multipurpose rooms and a wellness centre.

Located on a prominent wall within the entrance of the Centre (the main thoroughfare from the car park), this exhibition space aims to:

  • celebrate and champion the work of a local artist
  • promote awareness and appreciation of our creative communities
  • ensure that our public spaces are stimulating and engaging for visitors.

The successful artist will be awarded $5,000. This opportunity is only available to artists who live within the boundary of Mornington Peninsula Shire. The design needs to consider the facility and be appropriate for the centre.
