Victorian paramedics will save hundreds of dollars a year under a new commitment announced today by the Victorian Liberals and Nationals.
To ease cost of living pressures and reward our hardworking paramedics, a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will offset the cost of Victorian paramedics' annual professional registration fees.
To work as a paramedic in Victoria, an individual must register yearly with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. The current annual fee is $282.
Under this commitment, a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will offset the full cost of the registration fee for the next four years – saving paramedics more than $1,000.
This announcement complements the Liberals and Nationals' plan to providefree public transport to more than 260,000 Victorian healthcare workers, including paramedics and help ease hip-pocket pressures.
Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier, said this commitment was yet another real solution to help attract, retain and reward the workforce we need to help fix the health crisis.
