The Morrison Government is helping Australians to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs, with a new edition of Your Home set for release later this month.
Your Home provides Australians with a guide to designing and building energy efficient, sustainable homes that use less energy, are cheaper to run and comfortable to live in.
The newest edition of Your Home features new and updated content on low emissions technological advancements in building and design, including batteries, solar photovoltaic, roof and wall insulation, cladding systems, lighting and appliances.
The resource also includes free architect-designed house plans and building specifications for people to build their own energy-efficient home.
Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Angus Taylor said the updated resource will enable more Australians to reduce their household energy bills, and take voluntary action to improve the sustainability of their home.
"The Government is focused on ensuring Australians spend as little as possible on their energy bills," Minister Taylor said.
"Your Home is yet another initiative we are driving to ensure families and individuals can power their household for less.
"This resource is aimed at empowering homeowners to improve the sustainability and energy efficiency of their properties in ways that suit them, to help them save on energy costs and contribute to Australia's emissions reduction efforts."
The new Your Home edition has the latest information on energy efficiency, sustainable design practices and construction systems for the residential building sector.
It includes new case studies, images and diagrams covering cladding systems, insulation, retrofitting and renovating to improve thermal performance. It also has chapters on building for adaptability and resilience to weather extremes.
