Man critically injured in single-vehicle crash near Orange

A man has been critically injured after a single-vehicle crash in the state's central west overnight.

About 10.30pm (Saturday 24 June 2021), emergency services were called to the Davys Plains Road, Cudal, about 40km west of Orange, following reports a Nissan Navara had hit a tree after leaving the road.

The 21-year-old driver – and only occupant – was trapped in the vehicle for a short time before being removed from the car by NSW Fire and Rescue.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition. He is expected to undergo surgery for his injuries.

Officers from Central West Police District attended and commenced an investigation.
