Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing girl Melanie Healy.
The 12-year-old was last seen about 10pm yesterday in Canadian.
She is described as having a very thin build and has long dark straight hair.
She was wearing a black hooded jumper and grey tracksuit pants.
Melanie is known to frequent the Canadian, Wendouree and Ballarat North areas.
Police have released an image of Melanie in the hope someone recognises her and can provide information on her current whereabouts.
Anyone who sees Melanie is urged to contact Ballarat Police Station on 5336 6000.
