New Greater Geelong Council confirmed

The names of 11 community members elected to the Greater Geelong Council have been announced, after the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared the results of the 2020 Local Government elections today.

The following councillors-elect will represent the Greater Geelong region over the next four years:

Brownbill Ward

Sarah Mansfield (returning)

Eddy Kontelj (returning)

Peter Murrihy (returning)

Kardinia Ward

Bruce Harwood (returning)

Ron Nelson (returning)

Belinda Moloney (new)

Bellarine Ward

Stephanie Asher (returning)

Trent Sullivan (returning)

Jim Mason AM (returning)

Windermere Ward

Anthony Aitken (returning)

Kylie Grzybek (returning)

10 of the 11 councillors were part of the previous council, and there are four female and seven male councillors. The 11 councillors-elect have been voted in by the community from a pool of 39 candidates.

The new Greater Geelong Council will be sworn in shortly and the Mayoral election held in the coming weeks.
