Police arrest man after pursuits across Sydney's south west

A man has been arrested following two pursuits across Sydney's south west today.

Just before 2.20pm (Tuesday 1 December 2020), officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attempted to stop an Isuzu flat top truck on Eucalyptus Street, Macquarie Fields.

When the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit commenced, however, it was terminated due to safety concerns.

Shortly after, the truck was seen driving around Macquarie Fields Police Station and attempting to hit police vehicles and other vehicles.

A second pursuit commenced which travelled through several suburbs including Macquarie Fields, Ingleburn, Minto and Lurnea, before the truck crashed into the front fence of a home on Hoddle Avenue at Bradbury.

The driver exited and fled on foot.

With assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit, the 26-year-old man was found under a home on Hoddle Avenue and arrested.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, before being taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment.

Two vehicles were struck by the truck during the incident and sustained minor damage.

No police vehicles were damaged.
