Police arrest man wanted for St Kilda sexual assaults

Bayside Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives have this morning arrested a man wanted for two sexual assaults in the St Kilda following a public appeal for information yesterday.

Investigators arrested the 41-year-old man in Kew about 10.45am in relation allegations he approached a child and a woman and was involved in two separate incidents of a sexual nature, on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June respectively.

The man of no fixed address has been charged with sexual assault, encourage child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, directed sexual activity at another person and three counts of committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.
