Police charge five after Mount Dandenong car thefts

Five people have been charged following alleged car thefts in Mount Dandenong yesterday morning.

A 23-year-old Dandenong man was charged with:

• Aggravated burglary;

• Theft;

• Theft of motor vehicle (x3);

• Possess firearm;

• Disqualified driver (x2); and

• Commit indictable offences whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates' Court today.

A 29-year-old Clayton man has been charged with:

• Aggravated burglary;

• Attempted robbery;

• Theft of Motor Vehicle (x 4);

• Theft (x 4);

• Obtain property by deception (x 4);

• Commit indictable offence whilst on bail X 10);

• Possess drug of dependence;

• Handle stolen goods; and

• Breach of intervention order

He was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrate's court today.

A 22-year-old woman from Officer has been charged with:

• Aggravated burglary;

• Theft of motor vehicle (x 3);

• Careless driving

• Breach of bail;

• Theft (x5);

• Obtain property by deception (x3);

• Theft from motor vehicle (x 2)'

• Possess firearm;

• Possess ammunition;

• Possess cannabis;

• Possess heroin; and

• Commit indictable offences whilst on bail.

She was remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates' Court today.

A 17-year-old Pakenham girl was charged with theft of motor vehicle and obtain property by deception.

She will appear at a children's court at a later date.

The charges come after police allegedly observed a stolen black Mazda and silver Isuzu D-MAX parked on Observatory Road about 9.35am.

Officers arrested one male at the scene while a second male and two females allegedly fled on foot down a walking track.

The trio were arrested a short time later.

A third man, aged 34 from Dandenong, was arrested in Bayswater in relation to the incident.

He has been charged with:

• Theft of motor vehicle;

• Aggravated exposure to emergency services worker by driving;

• Possess drug of dependence;

• Reckless conduct endangering serious injury and

• Commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 16 September for committal mention hearing.
