Police charge men with attempted murder after Campbellfield stabbing

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Campbellfield late last week.

The pair, aged 30 and 23-years-old, have each been charged with one count of attempted murder, conduct endangering serious injury and other assault related charges.

The charges follow a confrontation between the victim and a group of people, believed known to one another, outside a Somerset Road address on Thursday 11 February about 1.10pm.

A 26-year-old man was allegedly stabbed during the incident and was taken to hospital with what was believed at the time to be life-threatening injuries.

The 30-year-old man from Docklands was arrested by the Special Operations Group on Friday 12 February following the execution of a warrant.

He appeared before court and was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 11 May 2021.

The 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday and appeared before Melbourne Magistrates' court late last night.

The Roxburgh Park man was remanded to reappear in court today.
