Police investigating bottle shop burglaries overnight in Launceston

Police are investigating a stolen vehicle and two bottle shop burglaries in Launceston overnight.

Around 11.30pm last night a white 2003 Mazda Bravo (rego B72AE) was stolen from a business on Invermay Road at Mowbray.

Around 1.30am this morning two men in the stolen motor vehicle attended the bottle shop at the Riverside Woolworths complex. The offenders forced entry to the store and stole a quantity of alcohol.

Further, around 1.45am, two men in the stolen motor vehicle attended the Newstead Hotel. The offenders forced entry to the store and stole a quantity of alcohol.

An investigation is being conducted into both bottle shop burglaries and the stolen motor vehicle which has not been located.

Police would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to the burglaries, or sightings of the stolen vehicle in the Riverside and Newstead areas between 1.15am and 2am this morning.
