Police issue statement on Commonwealth Ombudsman's investigation into AFP regarding Angus Taylor MP

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) acknowledges the statement released today (16 November 2020) by the Commonwealth Ombudsman.

The AFP welcomes the findings that the decision to cease further investigation into the AFP's handling of the NSW Police referral of information relating to the Hon Angus Taylor MP was a lawful exercise of the AFP's discretion and made within the AFP's decision-making framework.

The AFP has accepted both recommendations made by the Commonwealth Ombudsman in relation to this matter.
