Police seek public assistance after sexual acts on buses - Police Transport Command North Central Sector

Police are appealing for public assistance after reports of a man performing sexual acts in front of passengers while travelling on buses in the inner-city area.

Just after 2pm on Friday 5 February 2021, a man travelling on a bus between Enmore and Redfern performed a lewd act in front of a passenger before getting off on Cleveland Street, Redfern.

The matter was reported to police and officers from the Police Transport Command North Central Sector commenced an investigation.

Investigators have since established that the incident is linked to other sex acts committed on buses since February, including;

  • About 1.50pm on Thursday 11 February 2021, a man boarded the bus at King Street, Newtown got off at Castlereagh Street near Liverpool Street, Sydney CBD.
  • About 9pm the same day, a man boarded the bus again at King Street, Newtown and got off at George Street, Sydney near Central Railway Station.
  • About 6.30pm on Monday 15 March 2021, a man boarded the bus near Museum Railway Station and got off at Parramatta Road near Buckland Street, Broadway.

A part of ongoing inquires, investigators have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 60s, of thin build, with greying black hair and a grey beard.

He is shown wearing either an orange or lime green t-shirt, brown pants and white or blue shoes. He wears a red patterned hat with the graphic "AUS" written on it and a white face mask.
