Police update: Armed robberies, Morayfield and Caboolture

Detectives have charged a 20-year-old Caloundra West man in relation to multiple armed robberies that recently took place in the Morayfield and Caboolture areas.

Police will allege that on May 12 about 9pm, an armed man entered a service station on Bellmere Road, Bellmere.

Once inside, the man allegedly pointed the firearm at an employee and stole cash and tobacco before leaving on-foot.

On May 20 about 7.40pm, an armed man entered a service station on Old Gympie Road, Dakabin.

The man allegedly raised his voice at an employee however left without taking any property or cash.

About 8pm on the same night, an armed man entered a supermarket on McKean Street, Caboolture and allegedly pointed a firearm at an employee before leaving on-foot after stealing cash and cigarettes.

On May 28 about 8.45pm, an armed man entered a supermarket on Morayfield Road, Caboolture South.

The man allegedly pointed a firearm at an employee before stealing cash and tobacco, exiting on-foot.

Following investigations led by Moreton North CIB, detectives yesterday arrested a man in relation to the multiple armed robberies.

Yesterday afternoon (June 16) police conducted a search of a Caboolture South property in relation to these investigations where officers allegedly located distinctive clothing that matched items worn by the offender during the robberies.

Officers also allegedly located cannabis in the man's possession.

The 20-year-old Caloundra West man was charged with four counts of common assault, four counts of deprivation of liberty, three counts of armed robbery and one count each of attempted armed robbery, unlawful possession of weapons and possessing dangerous drugs.

He was remanded in custody in Caboolture Magistrates Court today and is due to appear next in Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 29. Investigations are ongoing.
