Shotgun found during vehicle stop in Girrawheen

Warwick Police have charged a 34-year-old man after weapons were located during a vehicle stop.

Around 12.40am this morning (12 October), officers conducted a vehicle stop of a Volkswagen Golf on Montrose Avenue in Girrawheen.

It is alleged during a search of the vehicle police located a 12 Gauge swan-off shotgun wedged between the centre console and driver's seat and two shotgun cartridges.

The 34-year-old man from Balcatta is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today charged with:-

• Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition;

• Possession of Stolen or Unlawfully Obtained Property;

• Unlawfully Possessed a Controlled Prescription Drug; and

• Possess Unlawfully Altered Firearm.
