Sold out workshops set to illuminate DREAM festival this saturday

As part of this year's DREAM Festival, Lantern Making Workshops were being offered to school students this week by LightnUp Inc; a community based arts organisation located in Lismore. The popular workshops have been running since 2013, and were quickly sold out by local schools in the region; with a number of schools attending these workshops since they first commenced.

LightnUp's CEO and Artistic Director OAM Jyllie Jackson said "This will be our eighth festival we have been involved in, and we are excited to be offering our creative lantern workshops to the local school community. The wider community is also encouraged to join the parade by contacting Council's Audience Development Officer to enquire about available ready-made lanterns. The more we have in the parade, the better."

"We are so excited for the opportunity DREAM Lanterns gives young people to show-case their creative talents. We are all about encouraging the whole family to enjoy the arts and cultural experiences Dubbo has to offer" said Matthew Bow, General Manager of Macquarie Credit Union and proud sponsor of DREAM Lanterns.

DREAM Festival proudly presented by Dubbo Regional Council and supported by NSW Government, Macquarie Credit Union, Kintyre Heights and NextGen Civil.
