Springside Children's and Community Centre Update

Springside Children's and Community Centre

Melton City Council has been advised by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that a staff member at Springside Primary School in Caroline Springs has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

Springside Primary School will be closed on Monday 22 June for 24 hours initially to allow time for the school and DHHS to undertake a full risk assessment and advise on cleaning requirements.

The Springside Children's and Community Centre (25-50 Becca Way, Caroline Springs) is located on the primary school site, however, accessed from a different entry point. The Springside Children's and Community Centre operates kindergarten, Occasional Care and Maternal and Child Health services. DHHS has advised that the Springside Children's and Community Centre is not required to close.

Kindergarten services are operated by the primary school and the school is advising families of the current situation and that services will continue as normal. Council operates Occasional Care and Maternal and Child Health Services and is contacting families to inform them of the situation. The Springside Children's and Community Centre will continue to operate within the strict guidelines of the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure the safety of all staff and children.

Users of this facility can be assured that if there are any changes to the current advice, Council will be in contact with families accordingly.
