Stolen Vehicle Charges, Merrimac

Four juveniles were taken in custody and investigations are ongoing after three stolen vehicles were seen allegedly driving across the Gold Coast region this morning, 31 May.

It will be alleged that a black Mercedes-Benz, a grey Land Rover Range Rover and a white Hyundai Kona were seen in the Nerang area with a number of unknown offenders who were wearing face covers around 7.30am.

Police tracked the alleged three stolen vehicles to the Carrara area where they successfully deployed a tyre deflation device on the Hyundai.

The Hyundai continued to evade police before coming to a stop on Gooding Drive, Merrimac and four juveniles were taken in custody.

It will be alleged the Hyundai was reported stolen from a Fairbank Court, Merrimac address this morning, 31 May.

It will be further alleged the grey Land Rover and black Mercedes-Benz were stolen from a Port Jackson Boulevard, Clear Island Waters address between 10pm on Saturday, May 30 and 5.30am on Sunday, May 31.

The Land Rover was located about 9.25am this morning at a Dunedin Close, Merrimac address.

The Mercedes remains outstanding.

A 15-year-old Merrimac boy has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of stealing, enter dwelling and commit and receiving tainted property.

He is expected to appear in the Southport Childrens Court on June 10.

A 15-year-old Highland Park girl has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of driving without a licence.

She is expected to appear in the Southport Childrens Court on June 10.

A 14-year-old Forest Lake girl and a 14-year-old Palm Beach girl were both dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision is urged to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
