Water Police - Joint training exercise

Northern Territory Water Police Section recently conducted a joint training exercise with CHC Helicopters which included hi-line transfers of people and equipment.

On 27 January 2023 NT Water Police and CHC Helicopters continued their commitment to multi-agency Search and Rescue response. Taking place in the Darwin Harbour, south-west of Talc Head, the members were involved in hi-line transfers of equipment and patients to and from helicopter and vessel.

Senior Constable First Class Chris Grotherr said "The training was an excellent example of multi-agencies working together to enhance our capabilities in responding to emergencies at sea."

Officer in Charge of NT Water Police, Senior Sergeant Jak Evans added "The exercise is a timely reminder to keep safe while enjoying our water ways."
