King's Undisciplined Spaces project works with charity to gather participant created pieces for AI art exhibition.
On 20 September, King's Undisciplined Spaces project hosted an AI art exhibition in the Inigo Gallery Rooms of Somerset House. The exhibition was a result of an AI art workshop, put on by Undisciplined Spaces in collaboration with the Young Foundation and the Lewisham-based Arts Network.
The Arts Network is a charity designed primarily to help people living with severe mental illness. The charity provides the space, materials, and guidance for participants to use art and community to explore their conditions and improve their mental health in a non-clinical environment. The AI art workshop, held at the Network's Lewisham space on the 12th of July, provided participants with access to the cutting-edge AI art platform Midjourney. Members were given laptops and pre-paid accounts for two hours. Members then selected two images from what they produced, one to have upscaled and framed for the exhibition and the other to have printed in a smaller version and framed for them to take home. All larger, exhibited prints will be donated to the Art Networks for them to display at their space.
What we've managed to achieve in the last year of Undisciplined Spaces would not have been possible without the Arts Network, without the dedication of their facilitators and the incredible creativity, enthusiasm, energy, and open-mindedness of their members. We felt very honoured to be accepted into their Lewisham space and to watch these artists at work. The exhibition was really a chance for us to celebrate them and thank them for welcoming us into their fantastic organisation. We can't wait to see what the future holds.
