Boy's body recovered from waterhole - Mid North Coast

Police have recovered the body of a teenage boy who fell into a waterhole on the Mid North Coast yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Potoroo Falls in Dingo Forest – 50km north-east from Taree – shortly before 3pm (Sunday 15 November 2020) after reports a 14-year-old boy fell off the falls into the waterhole below and did not surface.

Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District coordinated a search for the teenager with assistance from police divers and Police Rescue.

About 8.40pm (Sunday 15 November 2020), divers recovered the boy's body from the waterhole.

Inquiries continue and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
