Cannabis and prescription medication seized; Strike Force Catkin at Oxley

Cannabis and unauthorised prescription medication were seized during a search warrant in the state's north east yesterday.

In April 2020, officers from Oxley Police District's Proactive Crime Team (PCT), established Strike Force Catkin to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Tamworth area.

Following inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Robert Street, South Tamworth about 1pm on Thursday 18 June 2020.

Police located and seized cannabis, unauthorised prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, cash and mobile phones.

Inquiries continue and charges are expected to be laid.

Oxley Police District's Crime Manager, Acting Inspector Jason Darcy said people who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in the Tamworth area are urged to come forward.

"We want to get prohibited drugs off our streets and will continue to target those who supply drugs in our community," A/Insp Darcy said.
