CCTV helping police piece together murder of Shane Bowden 29 June

Gold Coast and Homicide Detectives investigating the murder of Shane Bowden have today released CCTV of a vehicle and two people of interest to the investigation.

The CCTV shows two men loading fuel containers into the rear of a dark blue Kia Cerato. Police investigations have identified this vehicle as a hire car with Queensland registration 089YQR. Investigations have identified the two males as associates of members of the Mongols OMCG. Police suspect the two men in this footage obtained the fuel containers and hire car on behalf of the Mongols OMCG who later used them in the murder of Shane Bowden and the burning of the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore 'getaway' vehicles.

Last week detectives released CCTV footage of the Falcon and Commodore being driven a week before the murder.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have knowledge of the Kia Cerato or these two males to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Police Link on 131 444.

The Queensland Government has issued a reward of $250,000 for information that leads to the conviction of the person, or persons, found to be responsible for Shane Bowden's murder and an indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.
