Child approached at Blue Mountains

Police are appealing for information after a child was approached by a man in the Blue Mountains this week.

Just after 8am on Tuesday (23 June 2020), a 13-year-old girl was walking through the car park of a shopping centre on White Cross Road at Winmalee, when the male passenger of a vehicle got out and approached her.

Police have been told the man offered the girl a lift.

The girl immediately declined and walked off, notifying staff at school later that morning.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with brown hair and a greying beard. He was wearing a green hooded jacket, blue work pants with reflective bands, and boots.

The vehicle is described as a white Mitsubishi Express van, towing a trailer.
