Children now welcome to attend visits

Children can again visit Queensland prisons after Queensland Corrective Services updated its COVID-19 visit policy.

Under the eased restrictions, each prisoner can have a maximum of two visitors, which can include one child.

COVID-19 restrictions still apply, with no physical contact allowed between prisoners and visitors. All visitors are subject to health screening on entry to facilities, hand sanitation and social distancing requirements.

We ask that anyone experiencing cold and flu symptoms not visit our centres for the safety of our officers and prisoners.

This decision was made after consultation with Queensland Health. The ongoing lack of community transmission in the State has allowed easing of restrictions on prison visits.
