From 17-20 May 2022, a new Blended version of the World-Leading annual Course in interventional cardiovascular medicine will be taking place in Paris and all over the world.
EuroPCR is celebrating being back home in Paris, in-person, for the first time in 3 years. This year's international Course will see both a complete on-site programme and a full digital experience, bringing the community together to share and learn.
As the official annual meeting of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), EuroPCR is a patient-oriented Course built by and for the community covering the latest innovations and advances in cardiovascular interventions. Interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, radiologists, nurses, allied professionals and other practitioners will be joined by researchers, innovators and industry representatives to address interventions for coronary and peripheral vessels, for structural heart disease including valves, for hypertension, heart failure and stroke.
As one PCR catchphrase has it, 'it's all about the patient'. But it's also 'all about learning', and over the challenging years between the last in-person EuroPCR in 2019 and this one, a lot has been learned, notably just how powerful digital can be. Online learning at EuroPCR has made a decade's progress in just a couple of years and much effort has gone into ensuring an enriched experience for everyone at EuroPCR 2022: both online participants accessing exclusive content, and the participants in Paris, getting even wider, even more diverse input from colleagues all over the world.
EuroPCR 2022 is more than just on-line and in-person, it's fully blended, with all participants encouraged to share comments and ask questions during live-streamed sessions in real time (orally or via the mobile app for in-person participants and via the chat for those online). And on the priority digital side, there's the new concept « EuroPCR+ », a digital channel broadcasting live news, discussions and interviews, with repeat broadcasts 24 hours a day, giving participants the chance to catch up with the big news of each day and get in-depth scientific insight into key topics.
A key element of the Course will be the opportunity for hands-on experience in the Training Village and Simulation-based learning, while presentations of the latest devices and sessions on innovation in cardiovascular medicine - such as artificial intelligence and the cath lab of the future - will generate much interest.
Over 700 participants will see their scientific abstracts, clinical cases, images, innovations and late-breaking trials showcased, with awards given for the best abstract presentation, the best clinical case, the best innovation and the best personalised vascular care project.

A Celebration
The theme for this year's Course is "Let's Celebrate", in particular the joy of being "back home" in Paris, meeting face to face, but there are also several anniversaries to be celebrated:
20 years since the first Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) was performed by Professor Alain Cribier at the Charles Nicolle University Hospital in Rouen, France.
30 years since Dr Ferdinand Kiemeneij performed the first successful transradial coronary angioplasty procedure at Onze Lieve Vrouw Gasthuis in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The 17th World Hypertension Day on 17th May.
The 10th anniversary of the EAPCI-PCR textbook, the first of its kind, all-inclusive patient-centred reference book promoting good, evidence-based clinical practices.
The 200th issue of EuroIntervention, the official journal of EuroPCR and the EAPCI was published in January 2022.
And it's the 20th anniversary of the digital gateway to PCR, PCRonline.
