Latest Perfect Match art hits streets

Inner West Council

Inner West Council's Perfect Match street art program is continuing to support and connect artists and communities throughout lockdowns.

Perfect Match is a unique Council initiative tackling unwanted graffiti and fostering legitimate creative expression and art in public spaces.

The program brings artists, residents, businesses, property owners and community partners together to collaboratively create fantastic new street artworks in public places.

Property owners are invited to find their Perfect Match by nominating their wall to be transformed by an artist. Artists submit their designs and ideas.

The 2021 suite of street art is well underway. Three recently completed works are:

Under the Sea by Neil Tompkins (Birdhat) and Digby Webster

Kays Ave (east) Marrickville

A mix of extravagant ocean life and everyday animals of the Inner West. Digby Webster and Neil Tomkins were finalists in the Archibald last year and continue their collaborative experience in this exciting work.

Animal Creatures of Salmon Playground by Tim Andrew

Station Street Newtown

Drawing on local animals found in Salmon Playground, dogs, cats, possums, rats, ibis, bats, pigeons, skinks, minors, lorikeets and the Australian raven.
