Leisure Centre Health Club set to reopen

Council together with Belgravia Leisure is excited to announce the reopening of health club facilities at the Swan Hill Leisure Centre on Monday, 22 June.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Director Development and Planning Heather Green said Council has been working closely with Swan Hill Leisure Centre to facilitate the reopening of health club facilities following the reopening of the indoor pool, earlier this week.

"We are pleased that the community will once again have access to this first class facility.

"It's been a challenging time for local gym enthusiasts but we are delighted to be reopening to once again support the local community to meet their fitness goals," she said.

Centre Manager Tim Free said the team is looking forward to finally being able to offer all their services to members again.

"It's been a long period of isolation and we are looking forward to getting back to our core business of health and fitness," he said.

Mr Free said whilst we are delighted to be reopening, we will still have some restrictions in place.

"At the forefront of our planning for the reopening of facilities has been and will continue to be the safety of our users.

"We understand that current government restrictions allow for a maximum of 20 patrons in each centre's Gym facilities.

"We have also capped our Group Fitness class attendance at 10 participants on the basis that classes will be delivered indoors from June 22.

"Our members will notice some new signage around, we have also installed several sanitation stations and for the time being we will only be taking payments via cashless transactions," he said.

Mr Free said with the recent easing of restrictions showers and change facilities will also be reopening on Monday, 22 June.

The Swan Hill Leisure Centre will continue to monitor government and industry guidelines to ensure that the facility remains safe for its staff and members over the coming months.
