LLW Repository Ltd (LLWR) has signed a £9 million Repository Infrastructure Framework (RIF) agreement with multi-discipline engineering and technical services company Jacobs.
Under the four-year contract, Jacobs will provide ongoing asset and infrastructure works and services to the Repository Site, in Cumbria.
This includes mechanical and electrical works, installation of pumping systems, civil construction works and electronic system enhancements.
Paul Pointon, Chief Executive Officer of LLW Repository Ltd, said: “This procurement gives a secure platform to enable many of our critical support Tasks and Projects to be delivered for our current baseline of work. A collaborative contract of this type provides the flexibility we need to service demand and satisfy our many stakeholders.
“I look forward to welcoming Jacobs in to the LLWR fold and developing a mutually rewarding relationship. Our existing teams are keen to foster the same collaborative approach that LLWR achieved with framework partner NSG on its PCM Decommissioning Programme, which was completed earlier this year and came in well ahead of schedule and under budget.
“This is an exciting opportunity to combine the learning from our successful collaborative approach for delivering the Decommissioning Programme with the learning and experience that Jacobs can bring from their successful collaborative ventures demonstrated at others Site Licence Companies,”
Jacobs specialises in services and protection of the environment in many fields including waste management, industry, energy and transport, and it currently has a multi-disciplinary site works framework with Sellafield.
