NT COVID-19 case update 30 December

One new positive COVID-19 case has been recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours.

A 35-year-old male crew member on the Diamantina livestock export ship has returned a positive COVID-19 test.

Additionally, a 36-year-old male crew member from the same ship requires further testing that will be undertaken today to ascertain his condition.

Both men are being transported in line with public and environmental health directions from the vessel to Royal Darwin Hospital, and will be in isolation and managed safe care until they return two negative tests.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 76. The 36-year-old will be added to the Northern Territory statistics only if confirmed to be currently COVID-19 active.

All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
