Bishop named first woman president of Mid-America Orthopaedic Association
Julie Bishop, MD, division director of the Division of Shoulder Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, is the first woman president of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association. Bai receives $2.37 million grant to study alcohol-related brain injury
Xiaowen Bai, MD, PhD, professor of anesthesiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, received a five-year $2.37 million grant from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The study, titled "Mechanisms and Neuroprotective Targets in Alcohol-Induced Brain Injury," focuses on identifying key regulators of neuronal injury and mitochondrial dysfunction in alcohol-induced developmental brain injury, with the goal of uncovering novel neuroprotective targets and supporting the development of precision interventions.
Singh named fellow of the American Society of Transplantation
Priyamvada Singh, MBBS, clinical associate professor of internal medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, has been named a 2026 Fellow of the American Society of Transplantation. The honor recognizes members for their dedication to transplantation and outstanding service to the society. She was recognized during the American Transplant Congress.
