On lookout for a new kind of art

Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from experienced artists, to create a contemporary public artwork to be installed in the township of Newhaven.

Bass Coast Shire CEO, Ali Wastie, explained that the key aim for the $40,000 commission is to provide a poetic moment of reflection for the residents of the town.

'We want the community to love the artwork and hope it becomes an additional attraction for the area," Ms Wastie said.

"The work needs to be something that really captures the character and serenity of Newhaven."

Artists need to register their interest by submitting a portfolio of previous works by Sunday, 22 November.
