Police charge teen with assaulting police after domestic incident - Shalvey

A teenager has been charged with assaulting police following an alleged domestic incident at Shalvey.

About 2pm today (Thursday 25 June 2020), police were called to Sedgeman Crescent, following reports of an assault.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended and arrested a 17-year-old male at the home.

Police will allege when the teen was placed in the rear of a caged truck, he grabbed hold of a leading senior constable, before dragging him into the vehicle and punching him multiple times in the head.

The teen was subdued before being taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with common assault, assault police in execution of their duty, resist police in execution of their duty, and intimidation.

The teen has been refused bail to appear in a children's court tomorrow (Friday 26 June 2020)

The officer received bruising and swelling to his face and head.
