Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle, serious traffic crash which occurred on the Bribie Bridge this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 12.20pm, a silver Mazda wagon with Queensland registration 075XAO was travelling eastbound when it has crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided head-on with a red Kia wagon.
The 74-year-old male driver and sole occupant of the Kia was transported to hospital in a serious condition.
The 46-year-old female driver and a 71-year-old male passenger of the Mazda were transported to hospital in a serious condition. A third male occupant of this vehicle left the scene before the arrival of emergency services and was last seen heading on foot towards Bribie Island.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, the Mazda vehicle prior to the crash, or has any dash cam footage, to come forward.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
