At a Meeting of Central Goldfields Shire Council this week (22/02) Councillors adopted the Priority Projects Plan 2022.(PDF, 3MB)

The Priority Projects Plan 2022 will be used to attract funding for community infrastructure projects.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor said the Plan was essentially Council's investment invitation list that would be used to advocate to both State and Federal governments for funding."

"In an election year this document is critical. The Plan outlines the projects we are committed to attracting investment for to facilitate long term sustainable growth for the Shire.

"These fourteen projects are what our community told us were important to them during the development of the Community Vision 2031 and Council Plan 2021-2025.

"To help us decide on the final list of 14 projects, we took into account a range of factors including the shovel readiness of each project and equity across the Shire.

"Some important potential projects needed more work to make this final list including a Youth Hub for the Shire and the Maryborough Splash Park. Council will continue to work on these to position them for future funding and Priority Projects Plan listing."

The Priority Projects Plan initiatives are identified under four themes which underpin the Community Vision.
