Rochester Is Focus Of Campaspe's First Structure Plan

Campaspe Shire Council is launching a new approach to long‑term strategic planning for its townships, starting with the Rochester Structure Plan. This plan will guide Rochester's growth, development and investment attraction over the next 15 to 20 years.
A structure plan sets out a shared vision for a town's future. It combines community priorities, technical studies and planning expertise to guide decisions on land use, housing, infrastructure, local businesses, transport, open space and environmental protection. It ensures future growth is well‑planned, resilient and reflects what matters most to the community.
The Rochester Structure Plan is the first to be developed in Campaspe Shire. It marks the beginning of a broader program, with township structure plans developed across the shire progressively over time.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said community engagement would be a central part of preparing the Rochester Structure Plan, with more opportunities to get involved throughout the project.
"This work builds on extensive engagement already undertaken in Rochester, including the Rochester Place‑Based Plan and the ongoing consultation associated with the Rochester Flood Study.
"The Rochester Structure Plan will bring earlier community input and a range of technical studies into a single, coordinated framework to support Rochester's long‑term recovery, resilience and growth," the mayor said.
