The $107.2 million Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) was established as part of the government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy. It will provide businesses with support to establish or scale capability that addresses a supply chain vulnerability.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic government and industry worked together to rapidly address critical supply needs. The SCRI will help Australia respond to any future supply chain disruptions and in implementing the SCRI we’re working with industry to:
- identify the essential goods and services critical to Australians at times of crisis
- map industry supply chains and Australia’s manufacturing capabilities
- evaluate supply chain resilience under normal circumstances and in possible crisis situations
We are now conducting a consultation as part of the implementation of the SCRI. The feedback we obtain will help us understand the real and potential vulnerabilities in our supply chains for critical products and ways of addressing them.
The survey closes 11 December 2020.
