Police are investigating a suspicious unit fire at Christie Downs last night.
About 8.45pm on Wednesday 16 December, police and MFS were called to a unit on Rufus Crescent following reports of a fire inside the property.
Fire crews attended and quickly extinguished the blaze however it caused extensive damage to the property.
The single occupant, a 78-year-old man, was taken by SAAS to hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation.
Police believe that the fire was deliberately lit and following an investigation a 48-year-old female from Edwardstown has been arrested and charged with Arson. She was bailed appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 11 February 2021.
