Update to Cross Border Travel - Updated COVID-19 Directions 18 June, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 5) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 6) (COVID-19) Direction 2020. This new Direction comes into effect at 0001hrs on Friday 19 June 2020.

This Direction creates two different classifications of Essential traveller - Schedule 1 – Essential travellers (no requirement to self-quarantine) and Schedule 2 – Essential travellers (required to self-quarantine when not undertaking work).

If a person is determined to be a Schedule 1 – Essential traveller they may travel to South Australia with no requirement to self-quarantine. A person who is claiming an essential traveller status to provide transport and freight services must maintain records of close contacts for a 14 day period from the date of arrival.

If a person is determined to be a Schedule 2 – Essential traveller (restricted), they must self-quarantine when not undertaking the activity for which they are an essential traveller. A person who is claiming an essential traveller status under this schedule must maintain records of close contacts for a 14 day period from the date of arrival.

All other provisions previously contained within the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel No 5) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 are contained within the new Direction.
