More than 18,000 employees providing professional, administrative, clerical, technical and supervisory services employees in the public health system have accepted the State Government's wages policy.
The Health Services Union advises that 80 per cent of voting union members supported the offer.
Employees will receive a $60 per week or 3 per cent per annum wage increase following registration of the replacement agreement, with backpay from 1 July, 2022.
The new agreement includes a commitment from WA Health to reduce the use of agency and casual staff, meeting a longstanding commitment of Government for direct and permanent employment. Additional enhancements in the agreement align conditions to other occupational groups in the public health system.
Negotiated outcomes have been secured for over 63,000 public sector workers during 2022 - including teachers, TAFE lecturers, transit guards, hospital support workers, enrolled nurses and doctors.
The United Workers Union is currently balloting 19,000 education assistants, cleaners and gardeners.
As stated by Industrial Relations Minister Bill Johnston:
"An overwhelming majority of Health Services Union members that voted supported the offer - an outstanding result - and I commend the union for their genuine commitment in reaching this outcome.
"The McGowan Government will continue to engage with unions in good faith and looks forward to securing more outcomes for its public sector workforce."
As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:
"I am pleased we have been able to come to an agreement with HSU members that will put the $3,000 cost of living payment into workers' pockets by Christmas.
"The McGowan Government's agreement was overwhelmingly supported by HSU members that voted, and delivers a $60 per week or three per cent per annum wage increase for health professionals and hospital administration staff."
