Cannabis crop crime syndicate busted

A multiple police agency investigation has uncovered a massive cannabis crop inside a Braeside factory this morning.

The Caulfield Divisional Response Unit, Hume Crime Investigation Unit and Drugs Task Force members, along with the Queensland Drugs Task Force conducted a series of search warrants.

Investigators found more than 600kg of cannabis, with an estimated street value of 10-million dollars, inside a warehouse in MacBeth Street about 9am.

A man at the property fled onto the roof of the building and was apprehended by police without incident.

At the same time, police arrested two men and found a substantial amount of money at a property in Anne Court, Sunshine West.

Simultaneously, Queensland investigators arrested two men and found two large scale cannabis crops inside warehouses in Loganholme and Slacks Creek.

The three men arrested in Braeside and Sunshine West are expected to be charged with offences relating to the commercial scale cultivation of a narcotic plant.

The Queensland suspects are expected to face similar charges.
